KNOW? NOW SUMMER IT MAY LAST ONLY THIS WEEKEND. THERE IS MUCH SENTIMENT HERE TO KEEP THINGS OPEN, BUT WITH OTHER COUNTIES SHUTTING THINGS DOWN BREVARD DOESN’T WANT AN INFLUX. WE WANT TO SEND THE MESSAGE LOUD AND CLEAR TO FOLKS A LITTLE BIT WEST OF US BUT STILL IN CENTRAL FLORIDA THAT THE BEACHES ARE NOT OPEN AS USUAL ALREADY BREVARD COUNTY BEACH PARKING AREAS HAD BEEN CLOSED RESULTING IN MUCH SMALLER CROWDS AT BEACHES OVER THE PAST WEEK OR SO. WHERE’S IT’S A LOT QUIETER AS YOU CAN SEE NOW THERE’S HARDLY ANYBODY HERE, WHICH IS GOOD FOR US, BUT I DON’T KNOW IF IT’S GOOD FOR THE ECONOMY AROUND US, BUT SOME LOCAL LEADERS WANT TO GO FARTHER FEARING THAT AS OTHER COUNTIES SHUT DOWN. HE BUSINESSES AND ISSUE STAY-AT-HOME ORDERS IN CURFEWS PEOPLE SEEKING AN OUTLET MIGHT COME TO BREVARD. THUS THE NEW CLOSURE ORDER SHUTTING DOWN BEACHES FROM 11 A.M. TO 4 P.M. ON FRIDAY SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ENFORCEMENT WILL BE STRICT WITH VIOLATORS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE AND ARRESTS WILL BE A LAST RESORT IF ANYONE IS ARRESTED THE PENALTY IS UP TO 60 DAYS IN JAIL INITIALLY. IT’S JUST GOING TO BE THIS WEEKEND AS A TRIAL RUN TO SEE HOW THINGS GO. SO MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY BEACHES ARE GOING TO REMAIN OPEN AS USUAL. AND IN ADDITION TO THAT THE BEACHES WILL BE OPEN AFTER FOR AND BEFORE 11 A.M. AS WELL PROVIDED YOU CAN FIND A PLACE TO PARK. THAT WOULD BE THE HARD PART THERE SOME COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND THE COUNTY SHERIFF BELIEVE THIS GOES TOO FAR IN RESTRICTING PEOPLE’S PERSONAL LIBERTIES. THEY THINK THE BEACHES SHOULD REMAIN OPEN. THEY WERE OUTVOTED COMMISSIONERS WILL DISCUSS THIS TOMORROW AND DEPENDING ON HOW THINGS GO THIS WEEKEND THE BEACH.
