Osceola sheriff warns of door-to-door scammers offering coronavirus testing

Osceola County Sheriff Rus Gibson is warning residents to be aware of scammers looking to make money off coronavirus concerns.Gibson said deputies were made aware of people going door to door in Poinciana on Thursday pretending to be Red Cross workers.According to the sheriff, the scammers were offering on-the-spot testing for COVID-19 at a nominal fee.”There is no such testing such as that, anywhere,” Gibson stated.If you come in contact with someone offering testing door to door, you are asked to call 911.”Sadly, there are a lot of bad people out there. We don’t want you to give them any of your cash,” Gibson said.
