Reports of damage after storms roll through Central Florida

City officials in DeLand are inspecting Melching Field, where they said trees are down, and some items, including bleachers and a batting cage, were blown around.

The damage was isolated to Melching Field, the nearby Little League Field, and the VFW hall on Alabama Avenue.

Officials with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said six to eight homes at the Holiday RV Village in Leesburg sustained damage.
