Brother-in-law of slain St. Cloud mother faces child porn charges, person of interest in murder

The brother of the man who is accused of murdering a St. Cloud mother has been arrested on child pornography charges.Authorities said Nicholas Rivera, 28, is charged with eight counts of possession of child pornography.Officials said Rivera is the brother of Christopher Otero-Rivera and the son of Angel Luis Rivera, who were charged in the murder of Nicole Montalvo.Deputies said they found evidence for Nicholas Rivera’s arrest while investigating Montalvo’s murder.Nicholas Rivera is also considered a person of interest in Montalvo’s murder, deputies said. Nicholas Montalvo was arrested in Georgia on Friday and is being extradited back to Osceola County.Authorities are continuing to investigate Montalvo’s murder. Montalvo was reported missing when she didn’t pick up her son from school last month.Her remains were found at Otero-Rivera’s home on Hixon Avenue near St. Cloud. Sheriff Russ Gibson said the victim’s dismembered body made for the worst murder scene he’s ever witnessed.”There are other people involved in this case still today. Our mission is the same. There is no rock you can hide under from being held accountable for the heinous actions, the cowardice actions that you have done,” Gibson said.Montalvo’s mother-in-law was also arrested in connection with her death. She is accused of tampering with evidence and providing false statements to detectives when she was questioned.

The brother of the man who is accused of murdering a St. Cloud mother has been arrested on child pornography charges.

Authorities said Nicholas Rivera, 28, is charged with eight counts of possession of child pornography.

Deputies said they found evidence for Nicholas Rivera’s arrest while investigating Montalvo’s murder.
