UCF to build lazy river outside football stadium before next season

“Covegating” will officially be a thing next football season at the University of Central Florida. McNamara Cove, which has been billed as college football’s “most unique gameday tailgating experience,” got the go-ahead on Thursday from the university’s board of trustees. Originally announced last November as a planned project, McNamara Cove construction will begin soon after the current football season and be completed by the start of the 2020 football season.The project is privately funded – and no state, university or student funds are part of its funding, university officials said. UCF will offer a capacity of 250 all-inclusive “Covegating” membership packages for all regular-season home football games that includes food, beverages and parking, among other amenities.

McNamara Cove, which has been billed as college football’s “most unique gameday tailgating experience,” got the go-ahead on Thursday from the university’s board of trustees.
