Stunning photos show waterspout off New Smyrna Beach coast

A photographer captured a waterspout Wednesday morning just off the coast of New Smyrna Beach. The waterspout stayed offshore, but photographer Shelley Lynch was able to snap some photos. “When we think waterspouts, it’s important to know that they’re much easier to form. They’re generally much weaker than tornadoes. Any shower can make a waterspout,” First Alert meteorologist Eric Burris said.

A photographer captured a waterspout Wednesday morning just off the coast of New Smyrna Beach.
