IT ALL STARTED WHEN TESSI’S NEW MOM NOTICED HEAD TREMORS. THEY TOOK HER TO THE VET AND FOUND AN UNBELIEVABLE AMOUNT OF BUCKSHOT IN TESSI’S BODY. FROM HER HIPS TO HER NECK AND HER KNEES. THE NEW SMYRNA BEACH RESCUE THAT TOOK HER IN SAYS THEY BELIEVE SHE WAS TARGET PRACTICE UP IN GEORGIA. >> THE SCARS ON HER BODY TELLS A HORRIBLE STORY OF WHAT SHE’S BEEN THROUGH. SANIKA: FOUND UNDER A GEORGIA HOME, TESSI WAS FOUND WITH 9 PUPPIES SHE HAD JUST GIVEN BIRTH TO, ALL NOW ADOPTED. >> SHE IS VERY CAUTIOUS. SHE DOES NOT LIKE GOING OUT AT NIGHT. SANIKA: BUT TESSI’S VET VISITS ARE NOW ADDING UP. UP TO $1000 IN BLOODWORK. HER NEW HEARTWORM DIAGNOSIS AT LEAST $3,000. AND A BIRDSHOT LODGED BEHIND HER KNEE THAT PREVENTS HER FROM WALKING FAR OR GETTING UP AND DOWN STAIRS WILL REQUIRE A $3000 TO $5,000 SURGERY. >> I DON’T GET IT. I DON’T UNDERSTAND.

A rescue dog named Tessi is now safe and loved in a new home, but her new family was shocked to learn that her whole body was riddled with pellets. Now, as she recovers, the vet bills are stacking up.Tessi was rescued from unknown conditions in Georgia. Her family has had her for a month now, but just last week, they found out that her whole body is riddled with bird shot.It all started when Tessi’s new mom noticed head tremors.”She would just wake up and start shaking her head,” she said.Tessi’s family took her to the vet, and found an unbelievable amount of bird shot in Tessi’s body.From her hips, to her neck, and her knees, the New Smyrna Beach rescue group that took her in said they believe she was used as target practice in Georgia.Found under a Georgia home, Tessi was found with nine puppies she had just given birth to, all of which have now been adopted, but Tessi’s vet visits are now adding up.The cost is up to $1,000 in blood work.Her new heartworm diagnosis is at least $3,000 and a bird shot lodged behind her knee that prevents her from walking far or getting up and down stairs will require a $3,000 to $5,000 surgery.Click here to donate to help Tessi.

A rescue dog named Tessi is now safe and loved in a new home, but her new family was shocked to learn that her whole body was riddled with pellets.

Now, as she recovers, the vet bills are stacking up.

Tessi was rescued from unknown conditions in Georgia. Her family has had her for a month now, but just last week, they found out that her whole body is riddled with bird shot.

It all started when Tessi’s new mom noticed head tremors.

“She would just wake up and start shaking her head,” she said.

Tessi’s family took her to the vet, and found an unbelievable amount of bird shot in Tessi’s body.

From her hips, to her neck, and her knees, the New Smyrna Beach rescue group that took her in said they believe she was used as target practice in Georgia.
